Continuing work on the west end of the yard.

Well, we are continuing the work along the main coming into the west end of the yard. Here we see the rosin paper going on the webbing you saw in earlier pictures. We had a Monday night work session and the guys got this done in a couple of hours.

We are looking back towards where the bridge will go. You can see that the paper is on the upper track as well as the main hillside.

We have to address the junction of the two hills at the top of the picture. I will  have to set a base for a piece to bridge the gap between the two aisles. Then we will be able to finish the webbing and rosin paper.
Here is the hill where it will blend into the backdrop as it falls next to where the tower will go.
This is the view for the whole distance now installed. The next step will be to put up the plaster cloth to cover this.
While this was going on, I was building the base for the panel that will control the turnouts and power routing for the west end,
I am using 1/8 inch Plexiglas as the panel material. I have drawn the track plan onto the panels so I can size the panel itself and then cut the wood framing. There is a piano hinge at the bottom so I can drop it down to complete the wiring. The big question was where to locate it so you can still work the trains but not intrude too far into the aisle at a turn. The panel is 2 feet long by 1 foot high.
Here you can see where it is in relation to the end of the hillside and the turn in the aisle.  I have now dismounted the panel face and drilled it for all the electrical switches. It has been painted and now I have to start mounting the switches and wire it.
